A massive thank you to everyone who has playtested this game so far, and provided invaluable feedback! You are all very appreciated.
Gameplay updates
- Overhauled UX for fusing cards to improve clarity.
- Adjusted card rewards - at least 2 cards at the Forgotten Library and battle rewards will match the player's starting deck choice.
- Adjusted card rewards - at least 1 card at the Mysterious Merchant and Treasure Trove will match the player's starting deck choice.
- Flipped UI in battle to place spirit and deck on left, with end turn button and discard on right
- Can now inspect/enlarge cards in the Forgotten Library, Mysterious Merchant, and Treasure Trove
- Update random event text to clarify what happened.
- Update random events to have a 50/50 chance for either a good or bad outcome.
- Update icons: anima, block, bog, burn, chill, daze, gold, spirit, checkmark
- Update health UI in battle
- Update spirit UI in battle
- Cards that require discard now require the discard action before the rest of the card resolves
- Add text to the map legend button for clarity
- Add toggleable gameplay setting to allow automatic turn ending if no moves are left
- Various additional minor UI improvements
Bug fixes:
- End turn button no longer glows if you just won a battle
- Can no longer end turn or re-enable hand card interactions mid-fusion
- Various additional minor bug fixes
Card balance changes:
Starter decks:
- Nerfed all starter decks by decreasing number of themed cards (8) per deck.
- Replaced those removed cards with 4 additional Strike and 4 additional Block per deck.
Card balance changes:
- Removed: Gleaming Beam, Celestial Rain
- Added: Meditation, Celestial Strike
- Quick Draw -> Draw 1 card. Discard 1 card.
- Block -> Gain 4 block.
- Brimstone Armor -> Gain 4 block. Apply 1 burn to an enemy.
- Valiant Shield -> Gain 3 block. Draw 1 card.
- Aegis of Light -> Gain 5 block. Draw 1 card.
- Gleaming Beam -> Removed.
- Celestial Rain -> Removed.
- Meditation -> Added.
- Celestial Strike -> Added.
- Meditation -> Draw 2 extra cards at the start of your next turn.
- Celestial Strike -> Deal 7 damage.
- Radiant Ray -> Draw 1 card. Apply 2 burn to an enemy.
- Twilight Eruption -> Discard your hand. Deal 8 damage to all enemies.
- Shatter -> Deal 2 damage for each stack of chill on an enemy. Remove all chill from that enemy.
- Glacial Spear -> Deal 6 damage. Apply 1 chill.
- Frozen Spirit (Reduced mana cost to 0) -> Gain 1 spirit this turn. Apply 1 chill to yourself.
- Ice Shard -> Deal 3 damage. Apply 1 chill.
- Crystal Wall -> Gain 10 block.
- Boiling Point -> Deal 4 damage to a burned enemy. If it is lethal, apply 1 burn to all other enemies.
- Combustion -> Deal 7 damage to a burned enemy. If it is lethal, apply 1 burn to all other enemies.
- Soul Drain -> Deal 4 damage. Restore 2 health.
- Divine Blessing -> Draw 1 card.
Fusion changes:
- Celestial Strike -> Strike + Strike
- Radiant Ray -> Scorch + Meditation
Enemy balance changes:
- Quick strike -> Deal 4 damage.
- Heavy Armor -> Gain 8 block.
- Pincera -> 46 health.
- Embrus -> 62 health.
- Ooze -> Deal 4 damage. Apply 1 bog.
- Heavy Slash -> Deal 7 damage.
- Sword and Shield -> Deal 5 damage. Gain 5 block.
Known outstanding bugs/needed improvements:
- Weird behaviors with aspect ratios that aren't 16:9
- Still a few scenarios where cards can't be inspected
- Allow players to remove cards from their deck at certain nodes
- Remove map generation button (this will come once the map generation feels balanced)
- Make the Enchanted Oasis node more interactive
- More enemies, more cards, more fusions, and more map choices!
- Hovering non-focal elements like owned runes or discarded cards at certain nodes will hover options on screen
- Missing ability to continue your game where you left off after closing or returning to main menu
